Here's what a listener sent to the KXL news room:

"Enough of the occupy coverage. Quit broadcasting the stories and they will go away. These folks are out of control and you are adding fuel to the fire. They have already cost taxpayers close to a cool million. Money I would much rather spend on education."

First of all, you must know that we are all feeling a bit of "Occupy Burnout" in the news room.  Every day at our news meetings, we talk about what needs to be covered, and what is inconsequential. I have put a stop to some stories because they were too "inside baseball" or detailed.  However, when a group blocks streets or bridges, we will cover it.  When a group has a stand off with police all weekend long, we'll cover it. When a group throws rocks at banks or even loudly protests in front of banks, we'll cover it.  When a group leads hundreds of students out of their classrooms, we'll cover it.   I believe that is our obligation.   In a perfect world, their demands would be specific,  banks and lawmakers would hear (and heed) their requests, and news rooms would return to the task of covering a wider variety of stories.    Your constructive feedback is always welcome at KXL.  Thanks to the listener who sent the email.
