Cold, wet and tired

A Beaverton man got lost while hiking in the Columbia River Gorge yesterday when it turned dark. 43-year-old Scott Morrison called 9-1-1 around 5:20 saying he was in the woods near Horsetail Falls with no flashlight and could not see the trail.
Morrison started a fire with his backpack and hat to stay warm. He called his wife on his cell phone to assure her that he'd be alright.
A search began around three hours later and Morrison was found around 1:45 this morning at the 3,000' level where temperatures overnight dipped to near freezing. He was wearing only jeans, a t-shirt and lightweight jacket.
