A group sigh of disappointment in East Multnomah County after the US Navy decides to scrap the USS Ranger instead of sending it to Fairview where it would become a tourist attraction. The USS Ranger Foundation has been trying to secure the ship for years. The tourist attraction was expected to bring more than 300-thousand visitors a year and bring in 46 million dollars to the local economy. Fairview's mayor says he thinks the cost of a replacing the railroad bridge near I -5 is what torpedoed the project.
