Summer Ale BBQ Sauce. A number of years ago, I was hired by Henry Weinhards to develop a special barbecue sauce incorporating their new Summer Ale. The result of a lot of experimentation...and beers, was this sauce, which we found was delicious on chicken, salmon, pork, halibut. 
Ingredients: 1-1/3 cup Henry’s Summer Ale, 1 cup applesauce, 1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice,1/3 cup Teriyaki, 8oz. crushed pineapple, 2 tbl. Honey, 2 tsp. wasabi paste, 2 tsp parsley-minced.
Preparation: Put all ingredients into a 2qt. Sauce pan, over low to medium heat, blend all ingredients together, and reduce over low heat by ½.
Cooking: Using a pastry brush, paint on meat in layers, applying once every 15 minutes or so while grilling or barbecuing chicken, pork or fish.
