A bill in Congress to return Vancouver's Pearson Air Museum into the hands of the city is moving forward.  A vote in committee today was supported by both sides.  It now moves on to the House of Representatives.

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler spearheaded the process after the National Park Service kicked out the museum last month when the two sides couldn't agree on a new lease.  It had been operated by the Fort Vancouver Historic Trust for nearly a decade.

"On one hand, I’m glad that our bill to restore Pearson Air Museum is quickly moving forward in the U.S. House," said Congresswoman Beutler.

"Yet I continue to hope that the Park Service will take a cue from the strong support that’s building in Congress, and agree to a solution that is acceptable to our community."
