Deadly Police Shooting

Police shoot and kill a man in Kelso after a ht-and-run suspect ends Saturday morning with a shootout against Kelso Police. Things started around 10:00AM when the authorities responded to a hit-and-run on the 200 block of Northwest 8th Avenue in Kelso. Capt. Darr Kirk with Kelso Police say that the suspect fled the scene and hid in a near by home. The suspect had a felony warrant for his arrest, and would not come out of the home. At 10:44AM the suspect came outside, armed with a gun, and began shooting at police. Kirk says one officer was shot in the leg, he was taken to the hospital and released. Police returned fire and killed the man.
