Bald Eagle Hit By Car on I-84

February 20, 2013, 3:09 pm

A bald eagle was hit by a car on Interstate 84 this afternoon and injured. Drivers flagged down a fire truck and blocked off the westbound right lane near 102nd Avenue to protect the bird. Traffic stopped briefly to look at the spectacle.

Animal control officers picked up the large bald eagle with an 8' wingspan and took it to the Audubon Society for treatment. It has a broken leg and damage to its talons, possibly even some paralysis.
