The Silicon Valley software company
Oracle is expanding its operations in Hillsboro and hiring 130 new workers. They're using $1.4 million in loans from the state to do so.
The company will relocate the production of data center servers and storage systems from Mexico to Washington County.
Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber says Oracle will get the loans in exchange for creating 130 full-time jobs and retaining 300 positions over the next two years. He praised the company's decision to keep jobs in Oregon rather than sending them overseas.
Oracle is one of the world's largest software companies with a market value of $165 billion and annual sales of $37 billion.
