Even with our limited months of sunshine, Oregon has the nation’s fourth highest death rate from skin cancer. Using tanning beds at an early age is linked to premature skin cancers and many states are taking steps to limit minor’s access to these skin cancer producing beds.

Dr. Brian Druker of OHSU Knight cancer institute believes Oregon isn’t doing enough to prevent skin cancer. He’s a big supporter of a house bill that would restrict children under the age of 18 from using indoor tanning devices. Please visit the OHSU Effect to find out more about why Dr. Druker believes this is life saving legislation.
