Acquiring an NBA championship takes more than just a superstar, it takes a great team, coaching and a little luck and timing. Luck and timing were two factors that didn't bode well for Mark Price.
The former 4-time NBA All-Star joined BFT guest host Fletcher Johnson to talk about his career and battles with the Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had inside power with "Hot Rod" Williams and also an outside threat in sharpshooter Mark Price. The Cavs and Chicago Bulls during the late 80's and early 90's developed a heated rivalry with the Cavs always coming up on the short end.
"Obviously I got a chance to play against arguably the greatest player to play the game and so those memories are treasures that I hold onto and I really enjoyed being a part of those battles," recalled Price when speaking about facing Michael Jordan.
In basketball today players leave college early to enter the NBA draft, something that rarely happened in the 80's and 90's.
"The difference in the league now then when I first got into the league was I think just overall maturity of the league because you've got so many guys that come in straight out of high school and one year of college and so it's a lot younger league overall that the guys come into than when I played." Mark recalled when asked about the difference of the NBA then versus now.
Mark commented on his all-star experience and what his life is like post-NBA.
