A group of Portland Public School students and parents gathered in front of the Blanchard Education Service Center this morning to take a stand against standardized tests. The Portland Student Union is encouraging students to opt out of taking their state OAKS tests. The students believe the tests are not an accurate depiction of a student's knowledge. They are trying to send a message to the governor and education chief that its important the state's education system not be standardized.| Add your comments below | |
