Fire truck resting against the guardrail

A bicyclist hit a patch of ice on Sam Jackson Park Road leading up to Oregon Health and Science University this morning and was knocked to the ground. A Portland fire truck on its way to help also wiped out.
The truck slid against a guardrail. Only that piece of metal kept the vehicle weighing several tons from going over the side of the road.
An ambulance took the bicyclist up Pill Hill to the hospital. He was walking around when they got there.
A sander made the road driveable again. The truck was towed away from the damaged guardrail. The ice was caused when a drainage ditched clogged with leaves spilled over.
